ABOUT OUR FISHING TRIPS: K-n-S Guide Service offers a unique opportunity to add excellent fall fishing on the beautiful and world-class Rainy River or Lake of the Woods to any archery whitetail deer hunting package. We now offer fishing-only packages as well. (See our rates below.) The fall scenery is especially vibrant as native deciduous trees reflect their coats of many colors. We offer anglers a wide variety of species during the open water season including walleye, sauger, northern pike, perch, small mouth bass and sturgeon.  September through ice-up delivers some of the best trophy fishing of the year. At this time, walleyes migrate from Lake of the Woods to the Rainy River and the action gets intense. The weather cools and the temperature in the river drops making 10-12 pound walleyes common.

Small mouth bass are also larger than usual, bulking up for winter months and ready to give a good fight. Sturgeon have become a popular route for those looking for a real battle. Rainy River sturgeon are fast and furious prehistoric giants. It is not uncommon to land a 20 to 80 lb beast. Northern Pike are also a possibility with 30 inch class being very typical and 40 inch fish not uncommon.

Fishing techniques vary with weather and water conditions. Jigging with emerald shiners is common or you may opt to drift or use a trolling motor. Your trip includes a licensed captain, dependable boat, bait, rods & reels, depth finder and GPS. Shore lunch is optional for a fee of $7.50 per person.

Fall fishing: $75 per person per day (based on 2 people)

FISHING-ONLY RATES: (Prices when booking fishing only)
Fishing: $225 per day for 1 to 2 people & $250 per day for 3 to 4 people.
