Black Bear Hunting Trips

HUNTING DATES: The Minnesota black bear season begins on September 1st. We run three groups of limited hunters each season. If you prefer different dates, please contact us.     1st Group: September 1st - 4th      2nd Group: September 6th - 10th     3rd Group: September 12th - 16th  THE HUNT: All Minnesota black bear hunts will be ethical and fair chase. As nocturnal animals, bears are primarily hunts in the evening. A typically day begins with target practice, skinning & butchering of animals and baiting. The hunters arrive at their hunting locations between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. and hunt until hunting hours close (8:00- 8:30 pm). Black bear hunters arrive back at camp to a home cooked meal between 9:30 and midnight.

We mainly hunt Minnesota black bear over bait. Stands are typically 15-20 yards from the bait. We use a wide variety of bear baits in ample amounts including beaver, butcher scraps, bakery scraps, restaurant grease, oats, molasses, candy, frosting, pie filling, etc. Multiple active bear baits per hunter will be provided. We have a very healthy population of black bears which ensures a high success rate. Every year we have hunters take black bear with rifle, pistol, muzzleloader and bow. The options are yours to choose from. 

AFTER THE HUNT:
We provide assistance with recovery, field dressing, skinning, and quartering of your black bear trophy. A walk in cooler is also on site for your convenience. 

FOOD & LODGING:
Lodging will be provided along with continental breakfast, packed cold lunch and a home cooked supper. Some of our frequently requested meals include shore lunch style walleye dinner, “oofda” tacos & cheddar chowder. 

LOGISTICS:
Minnesota black bear hunts are application lottery. Applications are available in late March and the due by May 5th. They can be found on the Minnesota DNR website: www.dnr.state.mn.us We hunt in zones 12 & 13. For license information please refer to the MN DNR website.

HUNTING RATES:
Black Bear Hunting Trip: $1100 if you book before March 1st and $1200 if you book after March 1st.

• 50% non-refundable deposits are required for booking. The remainder is due upon arrival in cash or cashier’s check.
